My Background

I caught the computer bug in the early 1980s. My first computer was a Timex Sinclair 1000 which sold for $99 at the time. It had a membrane keyboard and used a television for the display screen. With no storage and only 2 kilobytes of RAM, it was a dinosaur by today's standards.

Even though the Timex was almost unusable for anything but the most basic game or other simple task (balance your checkbook?), it was enough to spark my interest and hook me on the world of computers and technology.

From the Timex I graduated to a Comodore 64 which had (gasp) a color display. From there it was on to various incarnations of the "PC". That was the heyday of PCs with television ads for IBM (remember the Charlie Chaplin character), Texas Instruments (Bill Cosby did an ad for them), Comodore, Apple, and Compaq.

In the late 1980s I developed a software package called Aerial-Ease for an equipment rental company. I also installed the hardware and maintained the system. That package was used for all aspects of the business and was retired from use only after the business was acquired by another company with their own system already in place.

My years of experience in the equipment rental industry combined with my experience with technology have enabled me to develop a unique skill set. I have the ability to evaluate an operation and envision how to enhance the business with modern technology. I believe in ethical business practices and following through on commitments I make. Under-promise and over-deliver is the approach I try to take.
