This page contains only tournaments that QCVolleyball is involved with organizing and operating. For a full listing of area events please check our Events Calendar. If you are interested in playing in a tournament and don't have a team, or if you already have a team and need to pick up a player or two, check out the Teams Looking For Players / Players Looking For Teams section in our Forums.

Please select the event you are interested in from the drop-down menu below. After you select the event, you will be taken to the pages for that event. From there you will be able to sign up for the event (providing registration is open) and see event-specific information such as the list of teams registered, what division they're playing in, the latest news concerning the event, and local information. Once registration has ended, you will be able to view pool assignments, seedings (if applicable) and more detailed information. After the event is complete it will remain online and you may view the standings and results. Results will also be published on the AVPNext Tournament website. If you have any trouble or any questions please contact Chuck by email at qcvolleyball@mchsi.com or by phone at 309-278-5458 or 309-714-0685 (cell).

*Note: QCVolleyball may sponsor and support some quality events that are run by other promoters throughout the year. Some of those events may not be goverened by all of the same guidelines as QCVolleyball Sanctioned events. The items below pertain only to QCVolleyball Sanctioned events.

  • SPORTSMANSHIP - Good sportsmanship is not only expected - it is required at all QCVolleyball events. Exhibitions of poor sportsmanship or inappropriate behavior will be dealt with accordingly, up and including disqualification from an event. In severe or repetitive cases, a player may be banned from future QCVolleyball events for the remainder of the season.

  • QCVolleyball is an AVPNext promoter. All participants must have an AVPNext membership. AVPNext membership is not included in the event entry fee. Membership is open to anyone and is based on a calendar year and must be renewed each year. Note that you only need to pay the $10 membership fee Once Per Year - not for each event you enter. Register for AVPNext

  • All QCVolleyball sanctioned tournaments feature the highest quality equipment available for all divisions of play. Wilson AVP Game balls will be provided and must be used for all matches. Tournament seeding, brackets, schedules, etc. will be posted online at QCVolleyball.com and will be updated electronically during the tournament.

  • Players will ref their own games. Please be honest and call your own nets, illegal contacts, and any other infractions. Team Captains are responsible for recording match scores immediately on completion of your match. Please remember that we need scores for tournament games as well as pool play!

  • Double Elimination events will be seeded by random draw.

  • Pool play will determine the seeding of the teams from each pool to advance to a single-elimination tournament. The format of pool play will vary depending on the number of entries. Tournament seeding will be based on the overall record of each team within the respective divisions.Unless stated otherwise, teams will be seeded in pools based on the order their registration was received.

  • Tournament play will consist of best 2-out-of-3 games; first 2 games, rally scored to 21 and the 3rd game (if necessary), rally scored to 15. No scoring cap - must win by 2 points. QCVolleyball reserves the right to modify the format of events if the number of entries dictates.

  • Co-Ed or "Girl Rule". SIX PERSON DIVISIONS ONLY - If a ball is contacted more than once on a side before it goes over the net, one of those touches must be by a female. Co-Ed rule is not applicable for doubles, triples or fours.

  • You may not touch any part of the net or antennae.

  • Let serve rule is in effect. (Net serves are legal and in play)

  • No open hand tips in doubles, triples, or fours competition.

  • Open-hand serve reception is ALLOWED (except in DOUBLES competition).

  • A block will not count as the first team contact in 3,4 or 6 person events. (counts as 1st contact in doubles events only)

  • A 'double contact' is allowed on any first ball over the net as long as it occurs on a single attempt to play the ball AND the ball is not held, carried, or thrown.

  • Point per play (or Rally) scoring will be utilized.

  • In case of any disputed calls - replay the point!

  • Play will begin at 9:00 am unless otherwise indicated. Please be on time. If your team is scheduled to play and is not ready we will institute the 5-10 minute rule. You will forfeit your first game after 5 minutes and your second game after 10 minutes. In the event that part of your team is ready to play, you may play with those players present. Note that games will not be rescheduled and you may not play matches out of order.

  • 10 minute limit between matches. Please be warmed up and be ready to play.

Inclement Weather Policy

Tournaments will be held, postponed, or cancelled based on weather conditions at the time the tournament is scheduled to start and the best forecast for the day. (Check the weather by clicking on the Weather Icon on the main page.) Every effort will be made to PLAY. If a tournament is cancelled before it starts, your entry fee will be refunded. If an event is cancelled after your pool starts play, you will not receive a refund (to borrow a phrase from another event promoter, it's like Las Vegas and we're the house). We will make every effort to wait out bad weather, but reserve the right to cancel or postpone if the playing conditions so dictate.

Most of the expense in operating events is incurred well before play starts, so your understanding is appreciated.
